Development and Public Services Committee in the
Council of States visited Unity Support Fund which
was founded in June 2008 and started work in the
beginning of 2009. The delegation was headed by Hon.
Clement Janda, Committee Chairperson. The delegation
was met by Dr. Al Tijiani Aldosigi director of
projects of Unity Support Fund.
The visit aimed at seeing the fund and the work done by the
fund. Besides the role of the council in supervising
over the funds.

Dr. Al Tijani showed the role played by the fund in
supporting the unity and implementation of projects
for the ten states or intermingling states in
addition to contribution of the fund also in
implementation of projects of infra-structure and
rehabilitating roads, railway, ports and
electricity.

The fund contributed also in construction of the
internal network in Renk town and in the plan there
is the extension of lines to Juba and then to Waw,
besides the basic services, building (20) primary
schools and (11) secondary schools and universities
in Bahr Al-Gazal, Juba and Malakal as technical
studies are completed for Rembek and Dr. Grang
universities by Chinese loan that is in addition to
animals diseases research centre in Nyla.

Although the works implemented by the fund are
delayed the projects implemented are big
achievements.

The projects that the fund implement are not
implemented directly but through the governmental
bodies which are the advisory body for the fund.

The fund endeavors to complete some projects by the
end of 2010 and that all projects contracted on with
some companies to be implemented.
